The 50mm allows you to get sharp portrait photography as well as a nice focal length for walking the streets. The 50mm lens gives you a nice compression ratio when shooting between f1. 8 and f4 after f4 the 50mm 1. 8 is still razor sharp with some compression noticeable. The nifty fifty is sharp all the way up to f10 after which it becomes a little less sharp but still professional.
