Eimear Quinn THE VOICE A Cappella
Eimear Quinn won the Eurovision song Contest for Ireland in 1996 with Brendan Graham s song THE VOICE. On the 25th anniversary we share this solo voice, a cappella version to celebrate Eimear s deep relationship with the song, and her friendship with Brendan. The song marked the beginning of Graham s exploration of Ireland s history, particularly the Great Famine (An Gorta Mór) through music, poetry, and prose. You can learn more about that here Eimear has said on many occasions that the song has been a blessing to her, and that she has grown with it over her the course of her career, as she expresses in this haiku. This song has sung me; each sweet note and syllable, for twenty five years. Recorded by David McCune, Ventry Studios, County Dublin.
