A native of Naples, Italy, it was only a short time, about four years, after Pellino picked up the instrument that he became a session musician touring with international pop sensation Franco Simone, appearing on Italian national television RAI1 and RAI2 with Simone. By 1984, Pellino was working as a sound engineer and producer, leading to his creation of Fandango Band in 1988. This powerful trio was well recognized and led to a multiyear tour of nearly 1000 shows in just six years. In 1993, Fandango Band produced the rock blues album Il Leone e Il Suo Mercoledi, and became the opening act for Deep Purple in Forli.
