Steve Winwood While You See A Chance 1980 Classic Rock Purrfection Version
Steve Winwood was born in Great Barr, Birmingham, England on May 12, 1948. From an early age he idolized Ray Charles and learned to play the guitar and piano. As a teenager he made a name for himself when he joined Spencer Davis Group with his brother Muff writing and performing the hits Gimme Some Lovin in 1967 and then I m A Man before he moved on to Traffic. Traffic rerecorded Gimme Some Lovin, in 1968 and it peaked at, 68. Winwood was so prolific that he also joined another band at the same time, the super group Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Rick Grech. After one album they dissolved and Winwood moved on in 1974 when Traffic disbanded. In 1979 Steve did work on Marianne Faithfull s Broken English LP and came up with the keyboard bass riff that made the song. He immediately went solo, but did not make a dent on the charts until While You See A Chance got to, 17 and, 7 on the Hot100 in 1981. He played all the
