Meanwhile, the rap trio from Holis, Queens which included Joseph Simmons (Run), Darry McDaniels (DMC) and Jason Mizell (Jam Master Jay) rebranded themselves as RunDMC in 1983 while they were still teens and they were intimately familiar with Aerosmiths music.
