At their first meetup, Eminem surprised Yelawolf by greeting him with a recital of Yelawolf s Pop the Trunk lyrics before saying, This encounter astounded Yelawolf, further fueling his desire to match Eminem s level of achievement. He expressed his ambition to become an ally in the industry, rather than a competitor. Yelawolf laid out this ambition ten years earlier, securing an Eminem demo tape with the promise of returning it once he succeeded. Yelawolf s dreams were realized as he collaborated with Eminem in a Las Vegas studio soon after their meeting.
