Couperin Tierce en Taille low pitch meantone temperament equal rhythm quavers
This is in Meantone temperament, in which the Tierce stop of the organ becomes beautifully pure, calm, sweet and deep very appropriate for a Tierce in the body. Being aware that Albi organ is a lower pitch I set this instument to A415, the standard semitone down, to find that Albi is a tone lower, and I followed Mary Pratt Molinier s example of almost ignoring the pointed quavers which many beleive to have been the idiom of the time. Her performance is sublime, but I wonder if the dotted quavers give more life to the music br, br,
