Pauvre Pierrot (1892) Émile Reynaud
Pauvre Pierrot è una pantomima luminosa di , venne realizzata per il Teatro Ottico. Émile Reynaud era stato linventore dello strumento ottico chiamato prassinoscopio e poi del teatro Ottico: Questo nuovo strumento era dotato di un sistema di nastri mobili che permettevano a delle lastre di vetro di scorrere innanzi alla luce del proiettore. Su queste lastre erano dipinti a mano, dallo stesso Reynaud, fondali e personaggi. La prima dimostrazione pubblica del teatro ottico avvenne il 28 ottobre 1892 presso il museo Grévin a Parigi.
