Фарерские острова во время Второй мировой войны( Faroe Islands during World War 2) English Russian subtitles
A danish shortfilm from SUBSTANZ Film in Copenhagen and The Eik fund in Tórshavn. Photage from The Faroe Islands taken during World War 2. It is often overlooked that the Faroe Islands being a Danish County until 1948 (After 1948 a Self Governing Province) was NOT occupied by NaziGermany like Denmark was on april 9th in 1940. The British Army rescued The Faroe Islands from a Nazioccupation. Winston Churchill stressed that The Faroe Islands had vital and strategic significance for The Allied Wareffort. Unfortunally an all to forgotten story that a huge part of The Kingdom of Denmark also Greenland were occupied by The Allied Forces, and not by Nazi Germany.
