Pit Bull vs. Vacuum Cleaner, Counter Conditioning Dog Training
Daisy (one of my foster dogs, now adopted) was a very sweet young dog, but she did not get along well with vacuum cleaners This shows the quick progress she made after just one counterconditioning desensitization session (about 810 minutes total). As always, I only used positive training methods with this dog; both for teaching her some new cues (like sit, down, and roll over), as well as for the correction of her more serious vacuumcleanereating behavior that is seen here. Positive dog training methods are not limited to socalled soft dog breeds, nor are they only applicable to teaching your pet tricks (although that is fun, too )
