Huge explosions in Gaza destroy buildings as Israel strikes back at Hamas

A central neighbourhood in Gaza City was left almost unrecognisable after it was bombarded by Israeli forces on Monday. Footage shared with Storyful by the United Nations World Food Programme shows destroyed buildings and debris covering the streets in the citys Rimal neighbourhood. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it attacked many targets in the neighbourhood on Monday with dozens of fighter jets. Hamas infiltrated southern Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning, firing thousands of rockets as far north as Tel Aviv. Israel responded to the attacks by Hamas with a complete siege on Gaza as it vowed to respond with a force like never before.
