John Carl Hendricks (September 16, 1921 November 22, 2017) known professionally as Jon Hendricks, was an American jazz lyricist and singer. This man really had a way with his words. He is wellknown for adding lyrics to existing instrumental songs and replaces many instruments with vocalists. Hendricks was born in Ohio, 1921. He grew up with 14 siblings and with his dad being an AME pastor he had to move many times. Hendricks started his singing career at the age of seven.
