22 million people are in danger The heaviest snowfall in 30 years since Denver hit Michigan
22 million Americans were placed under winter weather warnings or advisories as the snowstorm that lashed Denver with its heaviest twoday snowfall in more than 30 years slowly moved east. A winter storm is underway in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, with heavy snowfall creating hazardous travel conditions, the National Weather Service s Weather Prediction Center said in a statement. Additional snowfall amounts of about 6 to 12 inches are forecast for parts of the Upper Great Lakes, with more than a foot of snow possible in some places, the statement said. Most of the snowfall is expected to fall within a few hours. Snowfall rates of 12 inches per hour and gusty winds could make travel difficult or Snow was reported from Iowa to Michigan, the heaviest in Michigan s Upper Peninsula.
