Western AF presents Benjamin Tod, Ballad of Spider John by Willis Alan Ramsey As a songwriter who has crafted many songs using traditional American archetypes as characters in a narrative, this one by Willis Alan Ramsey is the best Ive ever heard. I first heard this around the age of 15 with Christian Tengelitsch who is my oldest friends from my roots in Sumner County, TN. His father Rick West was a songwriters songwriter and used to throw us records like diamonds to guide our path toward musical enlightenment.
