Louis Garrel, star of The Dreamers and Little Women and the writerdirector of The Innocent, visits the BFI Southbank to talk about his film, a unique French comedyheistromanticthriller that comes loaded with charm and humour. Garrel writes, directs and stars in this hilarious partfamilyfarce, partheistthriller, partromance. He is Abel, a museum educator and widower, who is at his wits end when his mother Sylvie rushes into a marriage with Michel, a convict she met while teaching drama at the local prison. He decides to stalk his new stepfather, bringing along his friend Clémence (Portrait of a Lady on Fires Noémie Merlant) for the ride. Fun, fizzing with cracking chemistry and full of heart, Garrels genremelting film is above all a terrific night out.
