South Africas Manenberg gang battles

Authorities in Cape Town are battling gang turf wars in the suburb of Manenberg. Residents live in constant fear as volleys of gun fire ring through the area almost hourly. Last week authorities were forced to close down schools, as it was just too dangerous. Police have been deployed in their dozens to try and end the violence, while the Cape Town Mayor, wants the President to deploy the army. TVC News Jody Jacobs and cameraman Meshack Dube, spent time in the volatile area and filed this report.
