The River
In 1976 Uriah Heep fired its former iconic singer David Byron and recruited John Lawton. This was a final blow to the band which then took a course toward adult oriented rock and began to dwindle both musically and popularity (except in schlagerloving Germany, where this album was the band s greatest success). The River was left out from the Innocent Victim album, which is sad, because it s the last good song the group made. Trevor Bolders strong and intentive bassline and Lee Kerslakes energetic drumming really ram the song forward and steal the whole show.
