Beach and Rocks stage 1

This watercolor demonstration shows a stretch of water providing the middle ground for a beach or lake setting. This landscape uses the middle distance areas, behind the water, with sand and rocks in front, creating the foreground. See how the water is painted with one large, fast brushstroke of multi loaded paint. Creating a sense of space, by using color, detail and size, this landscape just works. However, it is just the first stage, of a three part series that explores the perennial question, When i
