George Henry Bussey (1925 2020) George was a woodworker, he lived near Waverly Hall, Georgia, about 15 miles from Geneva. Bussey learned to play guitar at the age of 18, although he came from a very musical family he stated no one taught him, I just went around to a lot of friends houses that had gramophones and listened to different records and catch the sound of em. Nobody taught me how to play, I just caught the sound myself, I listened to alot of Blind Boy Fuller s records, but I wouldn t try to play like he played it, I just played it my own way, just played it where i learn t the Until George MItchell met him in 1969, he hadn t played guitar in 12 years, I Just got tired of fooling with it, Mine got busted up, wouldn t sound worth nothing so I just quit fooling with Bussey a quiet, reserved man was hesitant at first to record for George Mitchell but consented, some of the songs he recorded were with no practice But
