Kib no kuni AKA The Land of Hope 2012 (x264, MKV, Blu ray, 720p) On Tab
Kib no kuni AKA The Land of Hope 2012 Immediately following the March 11, 2011 disaster in northeast Japan, director Sion Sono (Love Exposure) headed to the disaster zone to film Himizu, a bleak youth drama that concludes on a positive outlook for the future. Sono continues that outlook for postdisaster Japan in The Land of Hope, possibly the filmmaker s most optimistic film yet. Once again shot in the disaster zone in northeast Japan, the somber drama looks at life after an earthquake in a fictional prefecture sets off another nuclear crisis. While the film s setting is fictional, Sono s depiction of nuclear paranoia and unwavering optimism is clearly a reflection of postFukushima Japan. The Land of Hope may be restrained compared to Sono s previous films, but it remains a powerful, emotional story of a nation standing tall in the face of disasters. Source: x264, MKV, Bluray, 720p
