Bazurka Stari Grad

Known for their hypnotising reimaginings of traditional folk and pop music of Eastern Europe and the Balkans, Bazurka are pulling no punches with Stari Grad, the first single from their upcoming LP. Stari Grad is an instant earworm, luring you in with an infectious daburka and bass groove before giving way to swirling brass arrangements circling sultry guitar melodies. Stari Grad, translating to old town in Croatian, was written while travelling through the Balkans. Just like every European city has an old town at its heart, Stari Grad sits at the centre of the forthcoming album as an intersection between cultural legacy and modern innovation. Bazurka features Michael Costeloe (The Black Seeds, Rodger Fox Big Band), Justin Clarke (Fly My Pretties, Bret McKenzie band), Jake Baxendale (The Jac, Richter City Rebels), Tristan Carter (The Troubles, Hypnos), Andrew Laking (The Cosmonauts, TBone), and Thomas Friggens (OdESSA, Brockaflower), as well as collaborations from musicians from acr
