The golden brown baboon spider Augacephalus junodi in nature South Africa
Augacephalus junodi is a harpacterine theraphosid spider from the northeastern parts of South Africa. As this fossorial species often lives in colonies its burrows are more easy to find than the retreats of other Harpactiriniae in South Africa. Anyways this species is extremely shy and very fast so it is difficult to tickle it out of its burrow to take a decent picture. I did not cut most of the scenes so that you can see that it takes patience to finally have a proper view on the spider. In fact I spent three nights at the same location.
