Fritz Wunderlich sings the Beethoven s Adelaide, Piano by Hubert Giesen. Fritz Wunderlich (1930 1966) was a German lyric tenor, famed for his singing of the Mozart repertory and various lieder. He died in an accident when he was only 35. Adelaide, is a song for solo voice and piano composed in about 1795 by Ludwig van Beethoven. The text is a poem in German by Friedrich von Matthisson (17611831). The text of Adelaide is an early Romantic poem that expresses an outpouring of yearning for an idealized and apparently unattainable woman.
