Free Kissing Day (1934)
Full title reads: Hungerford FREE KISSING DAY as in Saxon days at Hocktide the Tuttimen claim their toll of a kiss or a penny forfeit from every Hungerford, Berkshire. A man talking to camera he explains the Tuttimen ceremony to the audience. As he talks the images of the ceremony are seen on screen. Two men, carrying long poles topped with flowers, surrounded by crowds walking through the village. They are knocking on doors collecting tutti dues, a kiss or a penny from every girl. A nice shot of the two men kissing a woman at her door one after another. The first kiss is not seen flowers from the pole cover their faces. It looks like a deliberate censorship very cute. Tuttimen throwing pennies and fruit to crowds mostly children. Cut back to the man talking to camera. Tuttiman climbs a ladder to reach a window with a woman waiting. They kiss quite passionately on lips twice. She gets a fruit and he turns to cheering crowd. Note: This is a traditional
