Fitting big ass nut

This big ass bronze nut we machined is for a jack used for train bogies. This gives a better idea of just how big this thread is and the type of thread. The threaded shaft has a worm wheel fitted to one end to drive it which is about 450mm in diameter and shown beside it is an unmachined casting which I still have to fully machine (about 50 kilograms). Each nut takes about one week to complete and would easily lift 100 tonnes. Even the Tool Rep s were astounded at the size of this thing and had never seen
