The opening opus from Eltons Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album, Funeral For A Friend and Love Lies Bleeding were written separately but recorded together. The pair of songs have often been used as a show opener on Eltons tours and serve as a dramatic midway point during the current Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
