Along with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple apply to be the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal. Although the band went through many lineup changes labeled Mark I to IV the Beat Club performance shows the legendary second lineup with Ian Gillan s howling vocals, Ritchie Blackmore s fast guitar, Jon Lord s organ and the rhythm section of Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums).
