University of Kentucky 1980 National Cheerleading Championship

The 1980 UK cheerleading squad performed as one of five finalists at the National Cheerleading Championship in Valencia, California (Magic Mountain, just outside Los Angeles). This was the first UK squad to make the finals and were named runnersup that year. Although UK cheerleader, Greg Medley, broke his kneecap the night before, he still competed Congratulations to the team that started the wonderful competitive tradition.
