Carlos Molina s Tango Orchestra La Cumparsita (The Masked One) Tango Brunswick 1931 (USA) NOTE: This 1931 version is considered by many, as one of the ultimate tangorenditions in history. Certainly, it s one of the most fascinating, slow yet extremely passionate versions, arranged by the bandleader who is a Colombiaborn tango interpreter. He was, however, most active in Buenos Aires, where the Tango found its motherland (while, its true birthland, was Uruguay). I chose this recording, urged by Lana our Chicagoan tangoexpert in this site who expressed once or twice her disappointment with so many charlestons and foxtrotts having been recently presented in my site to the detriment of tangoes.
