Credit Old Loves Clark Gable and Carole Lombard first met on the set of No Man of Her Both were married at the time and no interest sparked, but they reconnected at a Hollywood party several years later and married in 1939. At the onset of America s participation in World War II, Carole flew to her home state of Indiana to help sell war bonds. On the return trip home, her plane crashed in Nevada, killing all aboard. She was 33 years old.
