Germany Win Mens Eight Rowing Gold London 2012 Olympics
Germany win gold in the men s eight rowing event at the Eton Dorney as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games (1 August). Canada won the silver medal in the event with Team GB claiming bronze. It was, however, on the programme, but a stormy sea compelled the organisers to cancel the events. Women made their debut at the Games in 1976 in Montreal. They competed in a smaller programme.
