FLIM FLAM ( Clare Grundman) Cavendish Orchestra SBH 2961
Clare Grundman was an American composer and arranger (19131996) born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was one of the 20th century s most prolific and highly respected composers for band. composed scores for films, radio, and television, as well as orchestrations for Broadway musicals. He also wrote a few works for various chamber ensembles and for fullorchestra. However, he is best known for his many compositions and arrangements for symphonic band. This composition is called Flim Flam. It was included in the 1977 B H 12 inch vinyl LP titled Action Light played by the Cavendish Orchestra. Launched in the late 1960s as a series of Boosey and Hawkes production music LPs, Cavendish became a fully fledged library label when B H switched to CDs in 1987. Prior to this change B H had named their house orchestra the New Concert Orchestra.
