John Shaw from IH Reggio Calabria noticed that even a great game couldnt hold students attention for multiple weeks. Through research and experimental practice, he found ways to engage students more and how to maintain the engagement through student autonomy. In this episode of IH Talks, he shares how to introduce games to vary the way teachers use controlled practice. The games can bring up many different elements in a spontaneous way such as grammar, vocabulary and cultural references.
