Bongeunsa Temple

Bongeunsa Temple (봉은사) has a magnificently calm atmosphere, even though it is located next to the huge COEX shopping mall in the center of modern SamsungDong district. The temple was built in 794 in honor of the 10th year of Silla King Weongseongs reign. Traditional buildings together with skyscrapers, towering in the background, create a feeling of privacy and remoteness from the fastpaced life of Seoul. While walking around the temple, we felt relaxed and in harmony with nature as if we were left alone with our thoughts.
