Raja Harischandra (1913)
Raja Harischandra is a 1913 Indian silent Film produced and directed by Dhundiraj Govind Falke popularly known as Dadasaheb Falke. Adapted from the Indian saga the Mahabharata, the film concerns the virtuous King Harishchandra who almost sacrifices his kingdom for his sense of duty and for his love of the truth. In spite of the director s progressiveminded wishes, the film featured an allmale cast.
