Shooting Fruit With Supersonic Ping Pong Balls, First Vacuum Cannon Test

In this video I test out my new supersonic ping pong ball vacuum cannon. I show a little bit about how one of these is made and the theory behind how we can get to supersonic speeds with a cannon like this. Then I test it out on some apples and see the damage a ping pong ball can do at supersonic speeds. The cannon works by creating a vacuum in the PVC pipe and then when you rupture the seal on one end the air rushes in at faster than sound speeds accelerating the ping pong ball accordingly.
