Total solar eclipse brings darkness to millions as it sweeps North America, BBC News

Tens of millions in Mexico and several US states have seen the world plunged into darkness in the middle of the day. At the point of totality, the Moon perfectly blocks the Sun, for about four minutes. Nasa has been conducting experiments during the eclipse.
