Margaret Mac Millan, Understanding Our New World
Historian Margaret MacMillan and Institute Director John Shaw discussed how the lessons of history can help the world recover from the COVID19 pandemic and her new book, War: How Conflict Shaped Us (2020). MacMillan is a professor of history at the University of Toronto, a professor emerita of history at the University of Oxford, and a visiting distinguished historian at the Council on Foreign Relations. She is the author of several highly respected books including, Paris 1919: Six Months That Changed the World (2001), Dangerous Games: The Uses and Abuses of History (2009), and The War That Ended Peace: The Road to 1914 (2013).
