Reykjavik, Iceland. Introductory intertitle reads: Today, we continue our trip with Captain Bartlett (who accompanied Peary to the Pole), en route for the mysterious coast of Greenland, calling first at Iceland L, S of the harbour at Reykjavik. Two nice shots of people milling around in the streets of Reykjavik a policeman directs traffic. L, S of Icelandic landscape. Cars make their way down a winding track. One of Captain Bob Bartlett s crew stops the old hermit who is riding down the track on a donkey. Bob s crew member asks the hermit for directions. L, S of steaming hot springs pools of thermal water. Various shots of steam rising and arctic geysers. Various shots of Icelandic greenhouses, heated by the steam from thermal activity. Bob describes how you will find lots of tropical plants. Bob also observes that there is plenty of hot water for washing clothes. Women lean over troughs of steaming water to wash their clothes there are bars over the troughs to stop the
