This is the explanation of my understanding of the chucking technique Bernard Edwards used so prominently on several Chic songs, including Happy Man and Feet Keep Dancing. There is some discussion on the exact execution of this playing technique. In my approach there is no muting with the left hand, and no muting with the palm of the right hand.
