The Human Nervous System : Its Anatomy, Structure and Functions, , Shri Ram Medical College
The nervous system controls the body. It governs your motions, thoughts, and automatic reactions to the world. It controls digestive, respiratory, and sexual processes (puberty). Diseases, accidents, poisons, and ageing affect the nervous system. Your nervous system controls what you do, think, say, and feel. Movement, thinking, and memory are regulated. It helps you breathe, blush, and blink without thinking. Your nervous system affects thoughts, memory, learning, and feelings. Balance and coordination. How your brain understands sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. Sleep and ageing. Heartbeat, breathing. Stressresponse. Digestion and hunger, drought. Puberty, for example. This system controls your body. It regulates body systems and lets you experience the world. Nerves convey electrical messages to and from cells, glands, and muscles throughout the body. These nerves get sensory input. Nerves interpret information and control reaction. Your body is like an information superhighway
