It features a retractable roof system, an artificial turf field, and facilities suitable for hosting worldclass matches. The complex is named after the city where it was built Astana Arena. The stadium was officially opened on July 3, 2009. The stadium hosted the opening ceremony of the 2011 Winter Asian Games. On June 27, 2017, and June 29, 2019, it was the venue for the shows of the global star Dimash Kudaibergen, Bastau and Arnau , which attracted 30, 000 and 40, 000 spectators, respectively. Another two concerts by Dimash Kudaibergen are scheduled to take place on September 13 and 14, 2024.
