You unlock Lost Souls during Level The Entrance Hall. There is a chest down the rightside staircase in that level and opening it unlocks Lost Souls throughout the game. They are a new addition in the PS4 Remake. Lost Souls were not in the original PS1 version. First you must find a soul (there are 19 total, 1 per level). Each one gives you a riddle.
