The woman with the five elephants
DIE FRAU MIT DEN 5 Swetlana Geier is considered to be the best translator of Russian literature into German. In her ripe old age she translates five major works by Dostoyevsky known as The Five Elephants. At the age of 85 she goes back to her native Ukraine for the first time after being persecuted together with her mother during World War II.
