Pevely, Missouri After qualifying fourth but winning his splitfield heat race, Austin took advantage of a frontrow starting position and a dramatic lastlap accident by the leader to claim victory in his firstever fullfield, nationallevel event. With the win in this restricted class prefeature at the Kid Kart Nationals, he earned the pole position for the national championship final later in the day.
