A cubic, matrixlike home installed in a record two days and fully completed in only two months. The home, dubbed the Amagansett Modular House, is a scalable, prefab container house designed by New Yorkbased architecture firm MB Architecture. The home is located on a wedgeshaped wooded lot with only one neighbor to the north. This a lightfilled shipping container home is wrapped around a mature oak tree embracing the outdoors in more ways than one. The main structure of the house is built using four 40 foot shipping containers. Two 40 foot shipping containers were placed sidebyside and two more stacked on top. The internal container walls and floor were cutout to create a larger interior space. The containers were prefabricated off site before being trucked to the site.
