Ruohtta Aavet: Black Ambient Sessions 2013 2022 (full album, 2023)

For my final feature of this weeks Dungeon Synth Sunday, I bring you an advance stream of Ruohttas forthcoming Realm and Ritual release, Aavet: Black Ambient Sessions 20132022. The tape compiles Sápmi composer Tervaajas debut demo Laplandic misanthropy, the Kaanij EP, split tracks, a previously unreleased track, and new single Keremet int an album of raw, sparse, inhospitable atmospherics. While newer Ruohtta work is firmly rooted in black metal, these tracks are mired in ritualistic sonic landscapes and tardrenched ambience; eight slabs of obsidian darkness, anticolonial anger, and Laplandic isolation to ward off all light.
