Zheng Sun and Vladimir Oury (live Kerk van Beets)
A performance by Zheng Sun (erhu player) and Vladimir Oury (tanbur player), recorded in the lategothic church of Beets. Zheng Sun is a Chinese erhu player living and working in the Netherlands. In 2018 she got her Bachelor degree at the XingHai Conservatory in Guangzhou. After her graduation, she received a Dutch scholarship and went to Codarts where she got a Masters degree in World music (Turkisch department). In 2020 she received her Masters degree with distinction. Zheng Sun has a passion for various music genres, including Chinese music, Turkisch music, tango music and Western classical music. In April 2016 she won the Erhu Gold Award of the 3rd China National Instrumental Music Competition in the province of Guangdong. Vladimir Oury, coming from France, plays the tanbur here. He graduated in June 2022 in Ottoman music at Codarts in Rotterdam.
