Paris 1853 1870 City of Light Wireless Lamps, Napoleon III, Haussmann s Renovation, Oldest Photos
Howdy yall. Did you know Paris, France had over 56, 000 wireless lights by the year 1870 Did you know these wireless lights were powered, some would say fueled, by underground gas pipes which were installed during a massive renovation between 18531870 It sounds like a tale from a storybook, but according to the current narrative, Paris was The City of Light long before the common light bulb, or even electricity itself, was relevant worldwide. Today we will look at over 200 old world photographs of Paris, France ALL taken before the year 1871. From roughly 1853 through 1870 (but some claim until 1927) we have the renovation of Paris as ordered by Napoleon III. This is known as Haussmanns Renovation. We will be looking at only photographs of Paris from during this time period.
