Tchaikovsky Trepak from Nutcracker for clarinet ensemble, percussions and trumpets
Dear friends, Im so happy to play for you this excerpt of Tchaikovskys Nutcracker, the famous Trepak I always loved this piece, when Clara and the Prince travel to the beautiful Land of Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Prince s place until his return. He recounts for her how he had been saved from the Mouse King by Clara and transformed back into himself. In honor of the young heroine, a celebration of sweets from around the world is produced and all dance for their amusement : chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China, and here comes our Trepak with the candy canes from Russia An aerial, twirling, irresistible fast piece based on a folk song giving you a smile on your face for the rest of the day If you dont know it yet, I would highly recommend the very good arrangement for clarinet and piano or clarinet quartet written by Alexandre Chabod that I recorded a few years ago for klarthelabel.
